Detectives from the Hemet Police Department have made an arrest following the discovery of a deceased couple in their west Hemet home on Monday evening.

Quintin McCracken, who lived with the couple in the 5000 block of Corte Cerro in Hemet, is the 41 year old son of one of the victims. McCracken was located in San Bernardino (CA) during the early morning hours of August 5th. Following an interview with investigators, he was placed under arrest and will be charged with two counts of Murder.

McCracken, who was released from federal prison in September, 2019 after serving 13 years for bank robbery, was later transported to the Riverside County Jail.

Investigators are still working on figuring out what led up to this tragic incident that rocked the otherwise quiet community. Detectives confirm there are no other suspects and are treating this as an isolated event.

The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of other family members.

From HPD Press Release 08-04-2020

CONTACT: Lieutenant Nate Miller ([email protected])

HEMET – On 08/03/2020 at about 10:45pm, Hemet Police Officers responded to a single family home in the 5000 block of Corte Cerro after reports that the occupants had not been heard from recently.

While conducting the welfare check, officers entered the home after getting no response at the door. Once inside, they found two deceased adults on the floor; apparent victims of homicide. The victims, a male in his 70’s and a female in her 60’s were the only two in the home.

Investigators learned that an adult son in his 40’s also lives in the home, but he has not been located yet. Investigators would like to speak with the male and are hopeful he will make contact with them shortly.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time pending notification of family.
