DESERT HOT SPRINGS – On 08/30/2020 at about 1:09 am, Cal Fire responded to reports of a head on crash with two parties trapped on N Indian Canyon Drive just north of 18th Street.

Arriving crews located a red Dodge Challenger and another dark colored vehicle involved in the crash, both with major damage.

The driver and passenger of the Dodge Challenger were pronounced deceased at the scene. Other two victims were transported by medical to local hospitals with major and minor injuries. The condition of the patient with critical injuries is unknown at this time.

The two who were killed have been identified as Raul Martin, 24 and Emiaj Lane, 22, both of  Desert Hot Springs, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau.

CHP is investigating the crash and the cause and if intoxication was a factor is unknown at this time.
