Fontana: Large Geyser Spewing from Sheared Hydrant Floods Roadway Following Two Vehicle Crash
FONTANA – On 12-13-2019 at 2:32 am, Fontana Police and San Bernardino County Fire responded to a two vehicle crash with one car shearing a hydrant at the intersection with Jurupa Ave and Beech Ave.
Arriving crews located a grey Infiniti sedan with major damage resting on top of a hydrant it sheared in the crash and a dark colored Ford Mustang with major damage.
Both drivers were transported to local hospitals and sustained head injuries. Their condition is unknown at this time.
The water company was dispatched to the scene to shut of the hydrant that was flooding the roadway and shooting in the air a stream of water taller than the adjacent business structure.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time but speed is suspected to be a factor.
