HEMET – On 06-03-2021 at about 10:00 pm, Hemet Police Officers responded to reports of an armed robbery that just occurred at an O’Reilly auto parts store in the 800 block of W Florida. Reporting parties also advised that there were shots fired and a victim was struck by gunfire.

Arriving crews located a male victim who was shot twice. The victim was transported to a local trauma center with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and another gunshot wound in an unknown location.

The suspects, two black male adults were seen running southbound through the parking lot area.

Officers initiated an aggressive search for the two suspects during which a PD unit running code was struck by a motorist at the intersection of Palm Ave and Florida Ave near the auto parts store. No injuries were reported in the crash.

The suspects are still outstanding at this time. It’s unknown if the suspects made it out with any merchandise or cash and if so in what quantities.

A witness who was inside the store when the shooting occurred, explained that the victim attempted to grab the gun from a suspect in an attempt to foild the robbery. The armed suspect overpowered him and he was pushed to the floor and shot twice. The two suspects then fled the location.
