Hemet: Fire Destroys Home Leaving at Least Two Displaced

HEMET – On 05-15-2020 at about 9:00 am, Hemet Fire Department responded to multiple reports of heavy smoke and flames showing from a residence in the 700 block of Neal Way.

Arriving crews located a double wide mobile home with heavy fire in the interior of the structure.

Fire attack began in rescue mode due to possibly one victim being trapped in the home.

Firefighters had the fire under control and contained after 45 minutes to an hour.

The trapped victim was unable to be located and it may be possible that the individual wasn’t home at the time the fire occurred.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. A witness on scene suggested arson as a possible factor.

An interior search was completed at about 10:30 am yielding no victims inside the residence. Red Cross was dispatched to the location for two displaced.
