JURUPA VALLEY – On 09/13/2020 at 2:15 am, Cal Fire responded to reports of a deputy involved crash in front of the Rio Ranch Market Asian supermarket in the 9001 block of Mission Blvd east of Glen St.

Arriving crews located a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department cruiser with major damage. The cruiser came to a rest on the sidewalk facing wrong way after colliding with a light pole. A grey sedan was on scene with the occupants being questioned by officers as witnesses to the crash. It’s unknown at this time if the grey vehicle was also involved.

The deputy involved in the crash wasn’t injured and did not require medical attention. No other parties were injured in the crash.

The collision is under investigation and the circumstances behind what led to the crash is unknown at this time.
